Savoury Cheese Scones

Light and Fluffy Cheese Scones

This Creates Four nice sized Cheese scones. Each Scone is around 3g Carbs and 25g protein.


200g Ground Almonds
50g Butter
1 Large Egg
1tsp Baking Powder
1/2 tsp English Mustard Powder
50g Grated Cheddar Cheese
1/2 tsp Salt
Pepper to season


Preheat oven to 180C/360F and line a baking tray with greaseproof paper

Add ground almonds, baking powder and english mustard in a good sized mixing bowl.    *I sometimes add a few chilli flakes to spice them up a little*

place your butter in a cup and gently melt on a low heat in the microwave for 15 secs.

Beat egg in a cup, add your melted butter to the egg and give it a good mix. Then add a little at a time to your ground almonds making sure it doesn’t get too wet and end up a sticky mess. add your cheese and mix through evenly.

Split into Four equal balls or you can split them eight ways and have savoury cheese biscuits still as tasty with generous spreading of butter and saves you cutting them. Place on baking tray and shape them like a scone, place in the top oven for 15 mins or until firm and golden brown.
